FMCSA Pushes ELD Mandate Back

October 12, 2015

The final rule requiring truck drivers to use electronic on-board logging devices has been delayed another month, according to a report released in late September by the Department of Transportation. The rule, which was expected to be published on September 30th, is now forecasted to be cleared by the White House's Office of Management and Budget on October 26th and published on October 30th. The ELD rule will take full effect two years after it is published, at which time fleets, owner-operators, and drivers must have electronic logging devices that meet the rule's requirements in their trucks.
